Lemoney

Lemoney Day is a fun-filled enterprise program designed to empower children with the basic mindset, skills, tools and resources on how to start making impact and earning their own money and building wealth by setting up businesses, selling physical and digital products, offering services and adding value even as a temporary intern in an organization.

Financial Literacy

My personal survey revealed that the COVID 19 Lockdown experience exposed a high rate of children desiring for more, to be more, to be creative and to connect to a bigger purpose other than going to school. This led to some learning a new skill or using some of their learned or innate skills to create an online and offline businesses or community projects, while a lot who could not figure out how to get out of their undesirous states felt disconnected from their future. The worst part is that a lot of parents did not also know how to help these children to get that connection because they were also just barely surviving and struggling to stay through. So, this planned Lemoney Day is designed to help some of these young ones to better find and connect with their purpose in life and in their economies which is vital for the future.

Lemoney

The word “Lemoney” is derived from two words – Lemon and Money. The lemon represents skills, expertise, idea and talents a child has, while the money represents the value, business, money, and social impact that can be gotten from the “lemon”.
Helping children see the gifts in some of their ideas and talents and also giving them some exposure to business with these ideas, how money works and how to use it to make an impact in their communities is an excellent way of showing them possibilities; that they matter and that whatever knowledge, skills and ideas they have are more useful for the present which can then be built on to adapt to the future.

In addition, parents need to believe that it is better to expose the children early to these skills and that the fear they hold towards their children learning financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills are better addressed now than ignored because what is being ignored now may eventually wait to consume them and their children later in life. Surely, no parent wants that.

This program is the gift I am giving to my younger self. I wish I had it in my prime. I hope to have you come on board to give a head start to our precious jewels by helping them get started today. We would surely be grateful for it soon.

Thank you.
